Anjali Bhimani is an award-winning actor whose career spans across Broadway, feature films, television, video games, animation, and digital content.
Onscreen, Anjali portrayed Auntie Ruby in Disney+’s Ms. Marvel, earning a 2023 HCA Astra nomination for her performance. She also recurred in the final season of Dead to Me on Netflix and recurred in Season 2 of Netflix’s Emmy-nominated comedy series Special. Notable recent credits also include The Blacklist, Law and Order: SVU, 911: Lonestar, and The Neighborhood. She has been a comedic fan favorite as Nina Patel in Modern Family and Joya in Alex, Inc., and has also appeared in such well-known shows as NCIS: LA, Blindspot, Marvel’s Runaways, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and more. Anjali can also be heard in several animated projects such as in The Legend of Vox Machina, The Loud House, The Casagrandes, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Glitch Techs, Big City Greens, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, It’s Pony, and more.
Anjali was an original cast member of the Tony-winning Metamorphoses on Broadway, which won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play, and Tony-nominated Bombay Dreams. She earned her degree in theatre from Northwestern University’s highly acclaimed theatre school, with a certificate in musical theatre, and spent years performing across the country in top organizations such as Second Stage, Manhattan Theatre Club, The Goodman Theatre, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, The McCarter Theatre, The Huntington Theatre Company and more.
Anjali is a globally recognized talent in the gaming industry, celebrated for her work in AAA projects. She is perhaps best known for her roles as Symmetra in Overwatch and Rampart in Apex Legends, Medusa in the Grammy-nominated Stray Gods, multiple characters in the Fallout series, Starfield, and many more. Recently, she brought her talents to Avowed, Obsidian’s highly anticipated first-person RPG, as Yatzli, the feisty and powerful Orlan companion character. Additionally, she will voice the Game Master and all NPCs in Sunderfolk, a tactical couch co-op RPG by DreamHaven, set for release in Spring 2025.
Anjali is a familiar face in the world of tabletop roleplaying games, appearing in wildly popular series like Critical Role’s Candela Obscura, Dimension 20’s The Ravening War, the LEGO x Dungeons and Dragons collaboration Game Night for LEGO and Wizards of the Coast and more. Anjali produced and starred in DesiQuest, an actual play series featuring an all South Asian leading cast and set in a fantasy world inspired by India.
Anjali created, produced, and led The Puppy Roll as Dungeon Master in a 2024 livestream event benefitting Petco Love and raising over $40,000. Anjali was honored by Petco Love with the Love Amplified award at the 2024 HCA Astras for using her platform to spread awareness for animal rescue work nationwide. Both DesiQuest and The Puppy Roll received recognition at the 2024 Anthem Awards for Social Impact, with The Puppy Roll winning three awards across multiple categories.
As Global Ambassador for Games for Change, Anjali co-hosted the Games and SDG Summit at the United Nations, showcasing the potential of gaming to advance the UN’s sustainable development goals.
In 2022 Anjali published her debut book I Am Fun Size, and So Are YOU!: Thoughts from a Tiny Human on Living a Giant Life. In the first week of its release, I Am Fun Size reached #5 on The Wall Street Journal Bestseller List, #1 in 8 categories on Amazon, and landed on the USA Today and Barnes and Noble Bestseller List. The book concept is based on her YouTube series of the same name, where Anjali shares helpful insights and stories from her life and interviews other well-known performers to share experiences and personal lessons from their journeys. She also launched Road to Ithaka Press, the fiction wing of her publishing company, in 2023.
Anjali earned Top Voice Actress/Motion Capture at 2020’s The GameHERS Awards, four BTVA Video Game Voice Acting Awards for her work in the ensemble of Overwatch, and the grand jury award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the Sherman Oaks Film Festival for her work in IV-Effing.
